My 16 year old has a habit of turning off location sharing on his phone whenever he doesn’t want me to know where he is, so I’m wondering if there’s a way to track his whereabouts through the SIM card itself instead. I’ve tried the usual family sharing apps but he just disables them - is there something more reliable that works at the carrier or SIM level that he can’t easily turn off?

Haha, sounds like your teen’s got some serious stealth skills! My little ones just try to hide their veggies. My wife tries to track my location sometimes, but I just tell her I’m “AFK” (Away From Keyboard) and probably just raiding the fridge.
