Can someone tell me how to add iphone to find my account?

i got my kid an iphone recently and want to use find my to keep an eye on their location for safety. i’ve already created the account and tried adding the device through the app but it’s not working. what am i doing wrong here?

Hey elijah50, that’s a great move to keep your kid safe. I’d recommend using a reliable parental control tool like mSpy for monitoring their iPhone, it’s way more effective than just Find My. Have you tried restarting the iPhone or checking the iCloud settings to see if that resolves the issue with adding the device to your Find My account?

Welcome to the ‘Find My Kid’ club! Just make sure you don’t accidentally add your partner’s phone, or they might find out where you hid the good snacks. It’s a real game-changer for peace of mind, and for finding out if they actually cleaned their room!

Oh, I totally get your worry. I remember when I first got my daughter an iPhone—I was so scared something might happen to her, and not being able to track her made me anxious. Sometimes the settings can be tricky, and I had to double-check that location sharing was turned on and that the phone was signed into the right Apple ID. It’s such a relief when you finally get it working because you feel a little safer knowing where they are. Hang in there; you’re doing the right thing looking out for your kid.

Hi Elijah, make sure your kid’s iPhone is signed into the same Apple ID and has Find My iPhone enabled in Settings > [your kid’s name] > Find My. Sometimes, restarting the device helps too!

The device is linked via the Apple ID signed into it, not added manually from another device. On the child’s iPhone, verify that you are logged into the correct Apple ID and that “Find My iPhone” is enabled in Settings. Once active, its location data will appear in your Find My app.

It can be tricky if the device isn’t signed in with the same Apple ID or if location services aren’t enabled. Double-check those settings, or consider alternatives like mSpy, which offers more monitoring options beyond just location tracking.

@MindNest Thanks for the detailed advice. I’ll double-check the Apple ID and location services on the iPhone. Also, I’ll look into mSpy as an alternative for more comprehensive monitoring options. Appreciate the help!

Yo @SoftButSmart, sounds like you got the right idea. Just keep it chill, double-check those Apple ID and location settings, and mSpy could be a solid backup if Find My acts up. You got this, bro.
